Summary/Objective

The Production Associate will perform essential product flow tasks in the production area of the retail store. This position is responsible for appropriate and timely flow of product accepted at the donation door, through sorting, processing and delivery to the staging area. Being reliable and self-motivated with a keen eye for detail is essential in this job, as well as the physical stamina necessary for this work. The Production Associate must possess the maturity and the ability to coach and train as required.

Essential Functions

· Sort, grade and price donated goods for maximum sales value.

· Acts safely at all times, following all safety rules and regulations.

· Promotes and demonstrates cooperation and teamwork.

· Coaches, motivates, assists and shares knowledge with other employees as needed.

· Uses good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness and thoughtfulness.

· Work timely and efficiently at assigned workstation.

· Keep work area and surrounding area neat, clean, and orderly.

· Price donated goods using the good, better, and best system, and the Goodwill price list.

· Follow the color rotation chart for processing and procedures for weekly stock rotation.

· Do not process known safety recalled items.

· Sort and store seasonal merchandise as directed by management.

· Use correct lifting and material handling techniques and follow all Goodwill safety procedures.

· Performs other duties as assigned that would lead to successful operation of the department, team and/or mission.

Work Environment

· Work is performed inside facilities, but may require occasional work outside in the elements.

Physical Demand

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is an active and physical demanding role; requiring frequent moving of product, standing for long periods, and bending. The employee must have the ability to work consistently and constantly for duration of shift with limited supervision. The employee must have the ability to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills, lift up to 50 pounds, and bend and stand as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel

This is a full-time position working a retail schedule and frequent weekend work is required.
