Position Summary

The role of a Production Assistant is to perform various shop activities companywide to support PSG’s production responsibilities. This position will use mechanical aptitude to operate shop equipment and small tools to complete production activities for prototype or low-volume production parts. This position will work closely with the department supervisors and lead(s) to learn the skills needed to be successful in the manufacturing industry.

Essential Functions

• Operate manual or powered machinery to assist in the production process (CNC Shop, Model Shop)
• Utilize small tools to trim and deburr parts
• Inspect finished products for defects to ensure quality standards are met
• Assemble materials as required
• Label and package product as required
• Assist with routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of machines, tools, and work stations
• Assist with routine cleaning of shop, such as sweeping and trash removal
• Job shadow and assist PSG employees to gain insight and experiences within prototyping/manufacturing industry
• Other duties as assigned

Work Hours

• 1st shift work schedule, Monday – Friday,
• Part time hours may be considered
• Flexible scheduling in agreement with supervisor

Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Basic knowledge of commonly used hand and power tools
• Basic shop math and measurement
