Job description

Stant is hiring for a Product Engineer located in the Connersville, Indiana area. The product engineer will develop thermostat products using Stant’s New Product Development (NPD) process. The individual will design and develop new thermal products from concept to launch, communicate with the customer and suppliers, work with a cross-functional team to ensure optimal value and performance, provide hands on assistance in prototype builds and testing, and support the project team to a successful and timely product launch.

Product Engineer Key Functions:

  • Lead development of Thermal products, including thermostats, transmission oil valves and fuel blenders, for Automotive OE and Industrial customers utilizing Stant’s NPD process
  • Collaborate with customer engineering teams
  • Provide hands on assistance in prototype builds and testing
  • Oversee product development from concept to validation to launch
  • Help manufacturing resolve production start-up issues
  • Provide detailed design information for use in quoting new programs
  • Coordinate with the sales and program management staff on new and sourced programs

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience (including co-op/intern/advanced degree)
  • Proven problem solver
  • Proficient in the development and application of mechanical devices.
  • Development cycle understanding (innovation to validation to launch)
  • CAD proficient, NX a plus
  • Automotive industry experience a plus
  • Design for manufacturing experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal, communication, and presentation skills
