GENERAL PURPOSE
The Procurement Manager oversees a comprehensive procurement service to meet the requirements of FUJIFILM Imaging Colorants, Inc (COUS). The role has overall responsibility for procurement cost management across the site, the development and implementation of procurement strategies to align with business goals, to ensure materials are available to support manufacturing with no disruption and provides overall site procurement support including services and contract management. Key to this role is optimizing purchasing activities to ensure the best possible pricing and ongoing security of supply through supplier management, risk management, local contracts, and negotiation.
Dimensions
- Accountable for ~300 direct chemicals to support manufacturing demand.
- Accountable for Purchasing spend, including Directs, Indirects, Engineering and Special Projects in excess of $20 Million.

About FUJIFILM Locally: FUJIFILM Imaging Colorants, Inc. is part of Fujfilm’s Ink Solutions Group (FISG) comprised of 4 companies based in the UK and USA responding to the Group CEO and COO responsible for 3 of the businesses including FFIC Inc. FFIC Inc. has a manufacturing site in New Castle, DE where aqueous dyes, colorants, and inks are made to support the InkJet digital printing market.
NATURE OF POSITION
The Procurement Department activities include developing and maintaining supplier relationships, placing purchase orders, following up on orders, import documentation, and making sure that COUS has the best position pricing and buying conditions. The Procurement Department directly supports multiple functions, including Manufacturing, Technical Services, Facilities and Engineering in managing bid processes, contract development and other sourcing requirements.
The COUS Procurement Manager looks continually for further cost saving initiatives either directly on behalf of COUS or by participation in FF Shared Service discussions, taking care to balance the needs of COUS with the wider requests of FF. As the overall landscape of the Chemical Industry continues to change, the Procurement Lead continually seeks to develop knowledge of new and developing markets (i.e., India, China, and Eastern Europe) and to evaluate, develop, and grow a network of suppliers and distributors within these global regions.
This position is the main contact point for the Procurement Department and represents procurement as the subject matter expert. This position is responsible for resource management and the development of staff. The position requires a high degree of dependability, versatility, judgement, and organizational skill, as well as the ability to identify and address areas for improvement through data analysis and use of metrics.
The position is accountable to ensure compliance with local, national, and global ethics, corporate social responsibility, and legislative requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The job role involves 4 principal tasks: delivering an effective procurement function; leading staff to success; continuous improvement of internal processes; building effective collaborative relationships within and across the group. The responsibilities associated with each are outlined below.
Delivering an effective procurement function
- Identify and manage risks to successful delivery of manufacturing and R&D plans through appropriate mitigations and contingency planning.
- Deliver robust supplier and contract management programs.
- Lead and manage procurement for capital expansion projects.
- Support achievement of COUS objectives by controlling cost and securing high standards of service provision.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and global ethics, corporate social responsibility, and legislative requirements.
- Lead procurement capability improvement initiatives to maximize effectiveness of the function.
Leading staff to success
- Develop procurement strategy and appropriate policies to support all areas of the business.
- Translate strategies, Manufacturing and R&D plans into detailed objectives and ensure the relevant procurement infrastructure in place to achieve the stated objectives.
- Give clear direction and set expectations to procurement function and relevant stakeholders.
- Motivate, inspire and empower function to realize potential.
- Ensure effective processes are in place for selection of staff, performance and talent management.
Continuous improvement of internal processes
- Develop robust internal processes that support the efforts of the procurement team.
- Analyse and monitor activities against achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual objectives.
- Continuously identify improvements to procurement processes to aid achievement of overall COUS goals
- Actively managing suppliers and contracts to maximize positive outcomes for COUS, forecasting and minimizing risk.
Building effective collaborative relationships within and across the group
- Create strong effective relationships within Manufacturing and R&D communities in COUS
- Deliver COUS procurement strategy in line with overall group objectives
- Work across the FISG group with other procurement managers to leverage value
- Forge beneficial relationships within FF Ink Jet Business Division.
- Access group resources and participate in wider FF Communities to share insights and identify efficiencies.

Job Specific Competencies
· Significant 10+ years procurement experience.
· Track record of success, including managing change and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement operations.
· Extensive stakeholder management experience.
· Track record of negotiating high value contracts.
· CIPS qualified by examination or local equivalent desirable.
· Experience within chemical manufacturing.
· Track record of successfully leveraging value from within group.
· History of working collaboratively with new product development projects.
· SAP experience preferable.
