Role Overview

We are looking for:


The Process Technician is responsible for producing a quality finished product through milling, stabilization, and primer production by making blends, reworking scrap or rejected material. The Powder Technician is required to label finished product and package samples package and sample finished product. Maintaining maximum production rates in a safe manner is expected.

We count on you for:

  • Responsible for maintaining quality maximum production on milling, Merlin and primers equipment.
  • Watch quality of materials at all times as they are processed, making necessary adjustments at they are required to correct problems.
  • Inform shift supervisor or designee whenever there is any problem which might affect production or quality.
  • Solely responsible for the final condition of finished product, recording any problems which might arise.
  • Responsible for packaging sheets, packaging labeling, sampling, and sending samples to Lab at prescribed times.
  • Provide on-the-job training of other employees who may need to qualify, or refresh, for this function.
  • May also be called upon to perform emergency response activities.
  • Maintain current training status in the following: Safety, Environmental, ISO 9000, Process Safety Management; and Process Overview Training, Basic Operator Training, Process Specific Training, and Job Specific Training courses.
  • Be able to work a rotating shift work.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

You will bring:

  • High school graduate or equivalent, preferable to have an associate degree in process technology
  • Two years experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Good computer skills – Microsoft Office, distributive control systems, SAP.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and skills to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to use: Forklift, drill and attachment, scale, computer, vacuum, buffer.

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $29.25 per hour. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.

The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to wear a half or full face, air-purifying respirator or a full face, supplied air respirator. The duration that the respirator may be required could vary from a few minutes to several hours. The frequency of use in this manner is estimated to be from daily to once per week.
