Founded in 1975, The Help Group is the largest, most innovative and comprehensive nonprofit of its kind in the United States serving children, adolescents and young adults with special needs related to autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, ADHD, developmental delays, abuse and emotional challenges. The Help Group’s nine specialized day schools offer pre-K through high school programs for more than 1,100 students. We are currently seeking a Principal/ Head of School for our Autism Programs on your Sherman Oaks Campus! Our Autism Schools serves students K-12 with mild to moderate cognitive delays and challenges with social communication and or language development and peer relations. These comprehensive programs enable each student to maximize their potential.

EXCITING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the operation of the School
• Supervision of staff, staff assignment
• Coordination of curriculum
• Program development
• Intake evaluation site coordination for students testing
• Staff Development/In-services and Trainings for Teachers, Teacher Orientation
• Hire, orient, train, supervise and evaluate teaching staff
• Supervise behavior management program
• Serve as liaison to parents and school district
• Oversee outcome evaluation study to ensure program is achieving its goals
• Manage curriculum and reinforcement

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master Degree preferred
• Special Education Credential required; Mild to Moderate preferred
• Minimum 5 years school administration is required
