The Pricing Specialist will be part of the Logistics pricing team managing the assigned pricing activities within the target timelines in response to daily Spot Quote requests and medium to long-term RFQs as needed. You will ensure accurate pricing is issued following our client's scope of services, covering all service/supplier costs to allow the most profitable scenario and to serve the ultimate goal of maximizing success rate and yield on trade lanes quoted.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Pricing Decisions:

- Participate in the scaling of the defined tariff and progression toward client-specific pricing

- Understand the market inclusive of historic trends (market and rate), commodities, opportunities, customers, carrier and competition

- Respond to trade all related questions and inquiries in a prompt profession and timely manner

- Work closely with the business development leaders and station sales teams to support and execute the company's commercial strategy

- Work in harmony with the Asia based Trades and Trade Managers to ensure the Global Growth and Carrier Strategy is being executed and achieved.

- Maintain a defined template for multiple pricing strategies and update as applicable

- Receive and analyze monthly data to review set pricing levels

- To set selling prices within given bandwidths as per local conditions + pricing policy.

Freight Market Analysis:

- Stay abreast of the market conditions with regards to Ocean Rates, Local Charges, Detention and Demurrage, etc.in various target regions.

- Have a keen awareness of emerging market changes and innovations through formal or informal study, reading business and professional publications, networking, participation in professional organizations.

Commercial Guidance:

- Offered customer pricing must comply with underlying carrier Commitments, MQC's etc as well act in accordance with OFAC, UN, EU, and US rules and sanctions programs when preparing customer pricing.

- To support + exchange information with others to gain new, retain + further develop existing accounts.

- To seek out customer feedback to drive improvements.

Trade Manager Support:

- Analyze the Market and develop clear directives to achieve growth targets

- Steer and foster the development of opportunities

- Cooperate with Sales in the Development of Customer Relationships

- Participate in pricing and strategy meetings with trade managers and station level ocean managers.

Trade Analysis:

- Use of Industry Data Sources (example Panjiva and Datamyne) to build customer relationship knowledge

- Profit and Loss, Costing, Tariff, and Analytics as determined

- To ensure that databases are always up to date with most relevant pricing information.

Responsibilities:

Ensure that all pricing related processes are followed

Support and assist in overseeing the Pricing, Revenue and Systems

Ensures that business decisions are made according to existing business controls and that all regulatory requirements are met and followed.

Qualifications:

· At least 5 years of experience in Sea Logistics (preferred)

· In depth knowledge of Sea Logistics pricing

· Analytical skills related to supply chain, logistics, and transportation.

· Possess solid PC operational knowledge inclusive of excellent MS-Excel (advanced) Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills.

· Negotiation and customer orientation

· Sales attitude

· Financial knowledge

· Strong analytical skills and ability to structure, interpret and action data

· Excellent networking skills to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
