SUMMARY
Serves as the subject matter expert for the Industrial Automation and Control Training Program leading to a Level I Mechatronics Technician certification issued by Seimens. Tracks and reports student outcomes such as placement data, attendance, grade submissions, and completion metrics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Advises, counsels, and provides feedback to students on proper documentation and clinical skills techniques
· Administers competency testing to students in the training program
· Reinforces the instruction provided by faculty by utilizing a variety of learning modalities in the labs
· Manages record-keeping system to ensure program and students meet and maintain compliance standards
· Effectively interprets program requirements to assist with the program’s compliance efforts
· Manages the preparation of records and labs for surveyor site visits
· Develops and maintains departmental spreadsheets and databases to track and report student outcomes such as attendance and grade submissions
· Provides a full range of program support
· Assists in the development of policies related to the training program
· Assists with student instruction in various training labs as needed
· Participates in Tri-C Instructor training, events and orientation
· Coordinates and proctors the Seimens Certification Exam at the end of the program
· Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
· Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
o Significant related experience may substitute for education
· Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience coordinating and/or managing an industry training
· Demonstrated hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems and components
· Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
· Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
· Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
· Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
· Ability to promote student success
· Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently
· Possess working knowledge of training concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
· Demonstrated intermediate project management skills
· Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity
· Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects
· Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
· Ability to research and analyze issues and develop solutions
· Works accurately and great attention to detail
· Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population

· The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;
· The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
· Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
· Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
