JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, this position will provide daily oversight of the pool deck, aid in safety and customer service in the aquatics area to ensure that patrons are given assistance if needed and ensure patron adherence to all facility policies pertaining to the pool deck/aquatics area. This position will also be responsible for basic maintenance of the pool deck which includes maintaining cleanliness of the pool and spa areas, and regular checks of pool/spa chemistry, water temp, and chlorinator levels and assist the aquatics coordinator with basic maintenance of these aspects of the pool/spa area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides oversight of Pool Deck and Patrons.
- Maintains cleanliness of pool and spa areas.
- Assists Aquatics Coordinator by intermittently substituting for swim lesson instructors.
- Assists Aquatics Coordinator in the coordination of swim lesson programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s Degree in exercise, fitness, aquatics, or recreation preferred); two (2) years of experience teaching swim lessons/training; current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification; current American Red Cross CPR certification (accompanies LG certification). Experience with competitive swimming preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal skills; ability to demonstrate good customer services skills and courteously while firmly enforcing facility policies. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
