Lexington Home Brands, a global manufacturer and marketer of home furnishings, and a recognized leader in innovative design, lifestyle merchandising, and aspirational marketing has an immediate job opening for a full-time Plant Manager at its Import Receiving Operations in Lexington, NC.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Manage plant operations for receiving containers, quality inspection process, wood and finish repair, replacement part and distribution of imported furniture inventories to shipping locations to meet production and shipping demands, while ensuring safety, quality, and environmental responsibility
  • In conjunction with appropriate plant leadership, develop and implements staffing guidelines to maximize and control manpower costs. Supervise, evaluate, and replace staff as required to ensure performance objectives are met/exceeded
  • Maintain a high degree of leadership and supervisory skills including developing and training associates so they are prepared to assume positions of increasing responsibilities; evaluate associates generally and give feedback to improve performance; and conduct facility meetings for Safety and Production concerns as instructed by management
  • Drive continuous improvements and change management
  • Provide leadership and training to personnel in areas that may include line setup/operation, quality inspection, transportation, troubleshooting, safety procedures, record keeping, and training facilitation
  • Identify potential career paths for associates and works with associates to develop their skills and knowledge for progressing within the facility
  • Provide documentation and follow up to training and job responsibilities
  • Interview qualified candidates for facility positions and recommends candidates for hire
  • Completes or oversees completion of paperwork relative to line operation, inspection logs and corrective actions
  • Administer policies in a fair and consistent manner
  • Provide coaching and counselling to associates and corrective action when needed, always following the company guidelines
  • Ability to promote overall goals of company in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Identify and assist with implementations for continuous process improvement
  • Control materials to eliminate waste and ensure waste minimization practices are implemented
  • Must maintain a clean and organized facility both inside and out

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university, preferably in Operations, Logistics, Imports, or business related field; or five to seven (5-7) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven work experience in Plant Management
  • Proven managerial experience, team building, decision-making and people management skills
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
  • Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office
  • Previous exposure to any ERP type system a plus
  • Required Skills:
  • Must be dedicated, passionate, and energetic with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail. Must possess strong planning skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure each project is completed on time and within budget
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task well; ability to work independently and with other functional areas; attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, be pro-active, and follow-through on work assigned by organizing, prioritizing and staying on task
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of organizational users within the Plant Operations and at the Corporate Office and in a multitude of settings; face-to-face, phone, and email
  • Displays positive attitude, strong work ethic and ability to work in a team environment
  • Able to sit, stand and walk around for long periods at a time
