The Plant Manager will be responsible for the management, directing, and coordination of manufacturing operations for designated departments including production, logistics, engineering, quality and other warehouse related activities. Must ensure the achievement of production requirements, quality and reliability requirements, and on-time delivery at the lowest cost. These objectives will be achieved in part by collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, Information Systems and engaging the Union workforce. Delivery of the results achieved through Lean Manufacturing techniques, Six Sigma and problem solving.
- Responsible to safely provide quality logistical services and refurbished products while meeting customer specifications and delivery commitments.
- Lead plant teams in achieving EHS&S performance, production schedule, product quality, production cost, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreement and facilitate working Union relationship partnering with Labor Relations Manager
- Drive financial plan and strategic goals, including budget creation and gap closure
- Formulate long and short-range strategies for continuous improvements for all plant functions
- Ensure adherence to process control procedures, operating instructions, and all quality control instructions
- Control quality, delivery, cost of production, work in process levels, and monitors production through planning
- Recommends and purchases new equipment for expansion, efficiency, cost reductions, quality or improvement
- Provide input on the design and installation of equipment for new manufacturing processes
- Ensure Rules of Safety are followed at all times by every employee in the department
- Lead plant teams which includes hiring, performance evaluations, and talent development
- Guiding the P&L; holding direct responsibility for managing cost by effective approval expenditures, overtime effective budget monitoring and monthly variance causal
- Maintains and enhances a team environment and motivates the production workforce
- Establish and execute annual operating budgets for departments and meet the budget
- Employs lean techniques, visual controls, and plant performance KPI’s to meet goals and objectives including variable cost, and targets daily, weekly, and monthly
- Oversee operational plans and maintains production schedules
- Controls cost to refurbishing, work-in-process inventory, and throughput
- Oversee allocation of material, labor and equipment resources
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations and priorities.
- Successful experience in related production operations management.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, relentlessly execute and deliver results in conformance with action plans.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can effectively lead a collaborative team environment.
- Strategic vision for new and future technology to support manufacturing and operational excellence.
- Proven ability to work hands-on with the team to achieve objectives.]
- Experience in operations and people management (8 years minimum, 10 or more preferred).
- Plant management experience preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management or related fields (Master’s degree in one of these disciplines is preferred)
