The Plant Cost Accountant will assist with the financial performance of the business including: administering internal controls, payroll, planning, forecasting, reporting, and analyzing business drivers, risks, and operational metrics
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage, analyze, evaluate, and interpret plant financial forecasts and operating results. Inform management of results and recommend corrective actions to address unfavorable trends and variances.
- Interpret, implement and monitor corporate policies and procedures, ensure financials are reported in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and local statutory requirements.
- Develop and implement budgeting and financial reporting systems to provide timely and relevant information to plant, region/division, and corporate management. Control and maintain adequate product costing systems for valuation and cost estimating activities.
- Monitor, maintain, and enhance the system of internal controls that safeguards company asset and provides for integrity and propriety of financial transactions and activities. Ensure compliance with Group, Sector, and Corporate internal controls and SOX policies.
- Evaluate and approve plant capital appropriation requests prior to region/division and corporate management approval. Monitor and report purchase commitments and spending for all capital programs. Conduct follow-up audits to ensure compliance for all significant capital investments. Ensure safeguarding and accurate reporting of plant fixed assets.
- Manage the deployment of cost saving and other programs to provide operating economies and improve profitability. Monitors and provides opportunities to support continuously improving Plant Productivity / Gross Utilization.
- Minimum 3 years of Finance experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Minimum 3 years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to use BI and reporting tools for quantitative analysis
- Demonstrate good business and commercial judgement
- Advanced problem resolution and written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership abilities, experienced in working in a matrix managed environment Strong decision-making, multi-tasking and execution abilities under tight deadlines
- Experience with SAP, OneStream and MS Office (or equivalents) required
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business from an accredited institution
- CPA or CMA
