Essential functions of the position:
- Background
The Quantitative Reasoning Center (QRC) is part of the US Air Force Academy (USAFA) Academic Success Center, which supports strategies for academic success, reading enhancement, graduate studies and scholarships, and writing. The QRC helps cadets overcome challenges and fine-tune their academic performance in their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) courses through individual extra instruction (EI) and small group sessions.
- Position Responsibilities
Aleut is currently search for a Physics Tutor to provide instruction at USAFA between 6:30 and 9:30 PM on Mondays and Thursdays through 11 May 20-23. Support will be suspended will be closed on Federal holidays and Spring Break. Support is intended to be in-person.
The scope of work will include:
- Support one-on-one and group instruction in Physics
- Provide data for each contact as directed
- Provide summary data at the end of each week
Job Requirement:
- Education – MS/MA in Physics from an accredited institution
- Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience
- Experience with tutoring college level
- Experience working in a 4-year accredited college/university environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with tutoring process, strategies to encourage student engagement, and basic computer skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
- Strong working knowledge and experience with MS Office Software Suite
- Understanding of military rank, protocol, and culture
