Bariatric and Hernia Institute, PC is a community-based surgical practice offering general surgery services with specialization in weight loss surgeries and hernia repair surgeries. The main office is in Greenbelt, MD with a service area covering Prince George’s and Montgomery counties in the suburbs of Washington, DC. There is currently a need for an Advanced Practice Provider to join our team to enhance patient care.

Job Duties:

• Evaluating new/established patients and assisting with development of management plans.
• Reviewing diagnostic studies and making recommendations and orders for treatment.
• Preparing patients for surgical procedures with educational information and answering questions.
• Providing post-operative care.
• Prescribing medications.
• Communicating with patients, providers, pharmacies and hospitals on behalf on the practice.
• Assisting in or performing simple office-based procedures.
• Ability to work independently and with initiative.
• Assisting in work-flow efficiency and program development.
• Potential for rounding on patients at local hospital.
• Engaging in on-going learning.
• Part-time position for Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program with certification as Physician Assistant.

Maryland state license as Physician Assistant.

Experience in managing surgical patients.

Interest in weight management.

BLS certified

DEA license

The ideal candidate will be professional, detail-oriented, self-motivated, compassionate, and team oriented.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation Model:

Part-time opportunity with potential for full-time position. Competitive with market rates. Benefits package for full-time position.
