Location: US:WI:MENOMONEE FALLS at our FROEDTERT MEN FALLS HOSPITAL facility.

OPT Staffing Requirements:

  • For each 6 week schedule, OPT employees (pharmacists and pharmacy technicians) shall send the scheduler at least 4 shifts that they are available to work.
  • Availability should be emailed to the scheduler prior to the deadline for schedule requests. This deadline for schedule requests for future schedules is 6 weeks prior to the start of that future schedule.
  • Depending on need/holes in the schedule, the scheduler may schedule OPT employees for 0, 1, or 2 shifts per schedule, unless otherwise notified by the OPT employee that they are willing to work more than 2 shifts for that schedule.
  • OPT employees shall be scheduled at a minimum of one shift per every 3 months to ensure competency is maintained.
  • OPT employees will be notified of which shifts they were scheduled for (if any) when the schedule is published.

Job Summary:
Following established policies and procedures, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, prepares and distributes medication and performs functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department. Functions within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - Pharmacy Practice Sections. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

One year of work experience in a hospital pharmacy department is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired into this role prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Boards exam (PTCE) or the National Healthcareer Associations exam (ExCPT) is required within 6 months of hire.
