We are seeking a full time Pharmacy Technician to join our team of Medical professionals and support our no-kill mission to Rescue, Nurture, Adopt, and Educate.

Our Dispensary is located on site at our Pet Health Centers—comprising the Alex Lewyt Veterinary Medical Center, the Don and Karen LaRocca Pet Wellness Center, and the Freed Special Recovery Center—address all aspects of pet health, from prevention to treatment. Staffed by skilled and compassionate veterinary professionals, these facilities provide high quality, affordable care for animals in need. The Lewyt Medical Center, accredited by the prestigious American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), provides comprehensive medical, diagnostic, surgical, and dental services. The LaRocca Wellness Center offers a full range of preventive care, including physical and aquatic therapy, acupuncture, and nutritional counseling. The Freed Special Recovery Center affords comfortable isolation for animals with contagious disease, ensuring a safe environment for all. Open to all pets, the Centers support our no-kill mission to Rescue, Nurture, Adopt, and Educate.

We are currently seeking full-time 40 hours a week Pharmacy Technicians to join our medical staff. Work shifts are a combination of days, evenings and 1 weekend day shift per week.

Essential responsibly includes but are not limited to:

Calculating, preparing and dispensing of all medications for outpatient clients prescriptions; reinforce Veterinarians instructions about appropriate methods of administration and any side effects; distribute any printed materials from Veterinarians as needed. Prepare all inpatient medications for ECU, Isolation, Foster Care, Shelter Medical and Surgery and distribute these medications to the Veterinary Technicians of each area.

Requirements:

· Certified Pharmacy Technician a plus!

· Proficient in college level math

· College Education or some college preferred

· High School diploma

· Work well within a team environment

· Great communication skills, Exceptional customer service

· Ability to work in a high paced environment, Highly detailed oriented

· Genuine love and passion for animals

General Duties includes but not limited to:

· Provide great client attention, care and communication

· Filling prescriptions ( oral, topical and injectable)

· Keeping detailed records of medications and stock

· Stocking items and replenishing inventory

· Answering phones, take accurate messages

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
