About the Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Upperline Health’s Ascend Pharmacy is looking for a full-time Compounding Pharmacy Technician to work in our non-sterile compounding lab. Ascend Pharmacy is the only pharmacy in the country dedicated exclusively to lower extremity complications and treatments. Ascend is a member pharmacy of Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA), the industry’s leading compounding pharmacy association. As part of a fast-growing company, this is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and gain hands-on experience with compounding medications.
We are a closed-door pharmacy with a Monday – Friday schedule.
Work hours are 8:00 – 4:30 (Monday – Thursday) and 8:00 – 3:00 (Friday).
What You’ll Do
Prepare compounds in accordance with USP standards, including chapters 795 and 800.
Sorting, stocking, and managing inventory.
Complying with rules, regulations, and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy.
Assist the pharmacist with pharmacy needs and be willing to perform customer service duties such as contacting patients, following up on orders and shipping medications if needed.
Develop relationships with our patient population and ensure all their needs are met in an efficient and timely manner.
Consistently provide exceptional customer service to all patients with an empathetic, compassionate, and professional demeanor with each interaction
Values self as a team player who is dedicated, hard-working, reliable, and punctual.
Exhibit self-motivation and possess a high degree of organizational skills to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly.
Ability to become quickly proficient with the software systems used in our pharmacy.
Qualifications of the Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Minimum of one year of experience working in a pharmacy as a pharmacy technician or in a customer service role is highly preferred.
Compounding experience with creams, capsules and solutions is a plus.
Bilingual - Spanish is highly preferred.
Proficient with Information Technology, especially basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
Tenacious problem solver, with demonstrated capacity to embrace complex problems and arrive at effective solutions in a timely manner.
Enjoys working in a team-based environment with active collaboration.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, kneel, crouch, and carry up to 40 pounds over short distances.
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region based on prior training and experience.
