CVS/PHARMACY JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Pharmacy Manager
BASE HOURS:
FLSA: Exempt
GENERAL SUMMARY: This is for a CVS Pharmacy inside of Target located at 32351 N Scottsdale RD, Scottsdale AZ 85266
Responsible for all aspects of pharmacy operations within their store including pharmacy practice, quality assurance customer service, personnel, business metrics, inventory management, and loss prevention
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
Customer Service
- Greet each customer in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist all pharmacy and front store customers with their questions and concerns
- Ensure pharmacy staff is maintaining service standards according to company guidelines
- Provide counsel to customers when appropriate
- Communicate with customers/patients while protecting their confidential health and drug information
- Solicit information about a customer’s medical history to give appropriate medical advice
- Partner with front store management to drive customer service
- Including the appropriate schedule is implemented to best serve the needs of the customer and business in accordance with budgeted payroll hours and workflow model
- Maintain customer/patient confidentiality according to HIPAA
- Answer telephone timely and with an appropriate greeting
Operations
- Ensure Team compliance with all federal and state laws, rules and regulations
- Ensure Team compliance with CVS policy and procedures at all times
- Ensure Team compliance to CVS workflow and quality assurance standards are maintained at all times
- Communicate and interact with all healthcare professionals to provide optimal care
- Access, input and retrieve information to/from the computer
- Maintain prescription prioritization throughout prescription processing
- Resolve Third Party rejections and complete any manual claim forms
- Process prescriptions
- Including product selection, counting and measuring drugs, capping and uncapping vials and bottles; labeling of prescriptions, preparing compounds
- Follow all Quality Assurance company procedures
- Including final verification, DUR, and dispensing incident notification and report completion
- Perform all prescription pick-up procedures, in adherence of CVS policy and procedures
- Complete Prescription Pick-Up Log, validate customer address
- Make the Offer to Counsel
- Perform all register transactions, in adherence of CVS policy and procedures
- This includes cash, check and charge transactions
- Bag merchandise upon completion of sale
- Retrieve and file prescriptions appropriately according to State and Federal Law
- Maintain daily and weekly reports
- Communicate with Field Management and the Customer Support Center regarding any required reporting
- Formulate clear objectives and relay pertinent information to pharmacy team
- Participate in all required district and store operational meetings and action planning
- Maintain a clean, organized and professional pharmacy department, according to CVS standards
- Partner with front store management to drive business results
- Stand for extended periods of time
Inventory Management
- Maintain in-stock by ensuring all inventory management policies and procedures are followed
- Utilize appropriate report(s) to maintain replenishment
- Maintain a perpetual schedule II inventory and reconcile appropriately
Asset Protection
- Comply with all security/Loss Prevention procedures
- Including securing of pharmacy department, safe, and pharmacy department access
Human Resources
- Complete all required training and compliance programs within the designated timeframe
- Champion the training and development of the entire Pharmacy Staff
- Provide a performance review and evaluation of staff according to scheduled review process
- Coach and execute counseling discussions with Pharmacy Staff as necessary
- Interview hourly pharmacy non-exempt employees
- Interview exempt pharmacy personnel when necessary
- Mentor pharmacy students
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Respond to alarm calls when necessary
- Seek out competitive information regarding prices, wages, services offered, store hours
- Participate actively in the OUTREACH program
- Help provide coverage when needed, during time of illness, vacations or due to business needs
- Interview hourly pharmacy non-exempt employees
