Personal Trainer – Independent Contractor

POSITION SUMMARY

Grandview Parks and Recreation is looking for independent Personal Trainers to help members and patrons of The View reach their fitness goals. Ideal candidates will have a passion for fitness and health! They are outgoing and full of life while helping to keep patrons motivated throughout their training session and fitness journey. We offer tiered compensation depending on the package trainers sell (70%, 60%, 50%) [Ask for details]

Job Responsibilities (Include, but not limited to)

• Develop/Plan individual training sessions, utilizing one or more assigned fitness areas available at The View, for members and participants based on their specific needs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of each individual’s plan.
• Track the progress of clients and maintain client files as appropriate.
• Set up and monitor training equipment, ensuring that it’s in serviceable condition.
• Maintain cleanliness and order of equipment.

Minimum Qualifications/legal Requirements

Must be18 years of age. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, strong passion for fitness/exercise, must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and as needed, ability to maintain records, make reports, and present ideas and recommendations clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

Certifications

• Personal Trainer certification: We accept personal trainer certifications from institutions that are NCAA accredited such as ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, ACE, etc. If there is an agency not listed, check to see if it is NCAA accredited by visiting the agencies website
• Group Exercise Instructor certification: Group exercise instructors either get a group exercise certification from an agency such as ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, or ACE, to teach a general class or version of a trademarked class, or get a specific certification for the trademarked class they would want to teach such as a Spin, Zumba, Pound Fit, or Barre certification. (ONLY NEEDED IF INTERESTED IN TEAHCING GROUP FITNESS)

Insurance

• Personal Liability Insurance: Your personal liability insurance needs to be at least 3 million aggregate and one million per occurrence. Here are a few insurance agencies that instructors use:
• American Professional - $95 per year
• NASM - $140 per year
• ACE - $140 per year
• K and K $140 per year

CPR

• Must be CPR certified from AHA, Red Cross, ASHI, MEDIC first aid, or MSC. No others are accepted

Background Check

• The View will perform a background check for individuals that would like to become an employee or a contracted worker for the View

Pay

Pay for Personal Trainer is 70%/60%/50% of clientele revenue based on qualifications.
