Job description

The Payroll Specialist administers all areas of the bi-weekly processing of company payroll. Ensures compliance of all lawful policies and practices while completing job requirements. Works closely with Human Resources Department to maintain all required and appropriate records for employment related matters. Maintains confidentiality at all times.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll.
  • Process termination checks as required.
  • Calculate California and federal incremental bonus overtime premium.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, procedures, and benefits.
  • Manage wage garnishment process.
  • Complete employment verifications.
  • Assist with annual workers compensation audit.
  • Assist with annual 401(k) plan audit.
  • Assist with preparation of annual budgets.
  • Assist Director of Accounting with special projects as assigned.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous payroll experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or payroll certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Excel and Word.

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills and able to work with and effectively convey ideas to a diverse employee population.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • Displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, and supports and explains reasoning for decisions.

This position offers $28-$31/hr plus excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid time off, and more!
