Edwards Dessert Kitchen is hiring! We are looking for friendly and energetic rock star Counter Staff for Minneapolis’s premier dessert destination in the North Loop. This positive, upscale work environment offers part-time positions suited to your availability. Positions are $16/hr + tips.
Schwan's Company is hiring part-time Counter Staff for our Edwards Dessert Kitchen team in Minneapolis, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for serving restaurant patrons food and beverage while providing the highest level of service during customer interactions. This position will process payments for food and beverage. This position will be responsible for interacting with other restaurant staff in a professional and positive way to insure the highest level of food quality and service.
General availability is needed Thursday - Sunday.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide exceptional customer service in an efficient, friendly and hospitable way.
- Assist patrons in the selection of food and beverages by presenting the menu and explaining the chef ’s specialties, identifying appropriate wines, cocktails and beverages, and answering food preparation questions while identifying patron’s specialty dietary needs and requests.
- Transmit accurate orders to the bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices.
- Following proper cash handling procedures and ensuring the security of the registers.
- Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression.
- Demonstrate ability to maintain sanitation standards set by management. Maintain a safe, clean work area by sweeping, mopping, wiping counters and work surfaces, clear dishes, washing dishes, cleaning restrooms and cleaning tables for patrons.
- Comply with and enforce restaurant and OSHA sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Communicate promotions to guests and meet daily goals
- Responsible to conduct yourself in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School or equivalent
- Years of Related Experience: 0 - 2 years of experience
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to operate POS equipment; Knowledge of various types of dessert and food items; Ability to stand for up to 12 hours; Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; Knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and sanitation; Knowledge of OSHA requirements within a kitchen; Ability to do basic math; Have strong communication skills
