Job description
Responsibilities include client assistance in Family Law, (including divorce, divorce modification, paternity, restraining orders, and some guardianship and adoptions), Public Assistance Benefits, Housing and Consumer Protection, & Senior Legal Services as well as some grant reporting and community outreach.

Requirements:
  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience in case/client management strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with local community needs strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrable commitment to social justice or experience working with disadvantaged and/or low-income population strongly preferred.
  • Able to work under pressure in an empathetic and professional manner.
  • Ability to manage a busy practice, work independently, meet deadlines, and perform multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Paralegal experience preferred.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for travel to various parts of Kauai.
  • Able to work collaboratively and maintain good working relationships with co-workers.
  • Humility in working with colleagues and clients across the spectrum of diversity, including race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, immigrant status, religious identity, physical and mental disabilities, and/or limited English proficiency.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with ability to be detail-oriented.
  • Basic computer skills required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel) preferred.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Teams is a plus.

Compensation: $19.31-$25.60 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits package including medical and dental insurance, 401K match, life insurance, long term care insurance, and long-term disability insurance.
