NASL - Middleton specializes in finishing lineal interior mouldings, cabinet and furniture parts, and interior doors. No order is too small or too large. Our production lines include robotics and ovens on a continuous system. Smaller orders are finished in our state-of-the-art booths.

Purpose and Scope

Responsibilities include sanding, staining, and spraying finishes using a variety of hand tools as well as automated spraying equipment. The individual will work within a team on various projects within the Finishing Department.

Able to perform the duties of the spray booth operator with the addition of the following: Performs activities associated with the normal operation of equipment, including controlling machine speed and feed, performing routine set-ups & adjustments to ensure the highest quality product is produced. Verify the machine is producing at optimum production rates. Manage machine maintenance and troubleshooting of new processes. Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

  • Control and adjust machine settings to regulate speeds, flow rates & velocity.
  • Understand and adhere to the production, quality and safety expectations of the job and communicate to support staff.
  • Able to safely start up, adjust and shut down machines according to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure materials are utilized efficiently with minimal scrap or waste.
  • Conduct new part set-up, troubleshooting and process/quality improvements.
  • Visually inspect finished products for defects.
  • Assist Material Handlers with the movement of raw, work in process and finished materials.
  • Perform Machine Operator level maintenance as described in Standard Operating Procedure.
  • Use corporate ERP system to execute assigned jobs and record/report production data and outcomes
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Training

  • High school degree or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience working with prepping & painting/spraying of high-quality material

Special Skills

  • Attention to detail
  • Capable of working productively in a team environment
  • Familiar with performing computer tasks; clocking in and out, claiming quantities
  • Ability to adapt to new tasks and accept changes to work processes with a positive attitude

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand on concrete floors for 8-10 hours a day
  • Ability to lift 5-50 lbs repetitively 75 lbs occasionally
  • Must be able to bend, twist, push, pull, crouch, kneel, stoop and lift 90% of the workday
  • Must have full range of motion in both shoulders and hips
  • Use hands, fingers and wrists frequently

HOURS AND COMPENSATION

Hours

40 Hours per week. Additional hours approved by Supervisor based on production demand

Shift

1st Shift – Monday-Friday 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM overtime as required
