JOB OVERVIEW

The Mechanic is responsible for the management, development, and performance of their technical

work, within FDA CFR 111, 117, 210 & 211 regulated manufacturing facility. He/she ensures machine

performance and safety. He/she will apply their equipment or repair technique-based expertise on

packaging lines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

 Delivery of production goals and quality for production shift.

 Evaluate daily plan and make key decisions to ensure schedule is achieved.

 Evaluate and roll up key details and solutions about production to management.

 Create a high performing cohesive technical team.

 Enforce that safety is being followed.

 Coordinate, support, and execution of the technical staff.

 Perform skilled mechanic duties including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing packaging

equipment.

 Inspect mechanical equipment; diagnose problems and determine extent of necessary repairs;

perform routine preventative maintenance.

 Enforce thorough Preventative Maintenance program.

 Create and maintain service and maintenance schedules for packaging equipment, schedule

appointments with departments and outside agencies for services.

 Overhaul, repair and adjust motors, clutches, pumps; fit and adjust bearings; install axles.

 Diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical system components.

 Identify skill gaps and promote cross training and professional growth.

 Develop long-term training plans for all department personnel.

Nonessential Functions/Demands:

 Evaluate and recommend equipment upgrades and modifications.

 Manage parts inventory.

 Scheduling and completion of IQ, OQ, and PQ documentation of new equipment.

 Identify and participate in Root Cause Investigations as required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

 Technical Degree.

 2-3 years’ experience working in similar field.

 Knowledge and adherence to GMP’s.

 Prior experience with packaging machinery; bottle, pouch, carton, and blister.

 Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.

 Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.

 Bilingual Plus (English and Spanish).

 Excellent problem-solving techniques.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60.00 - $75.00 per year
