Responsible for the efficient operation of assigned filling and packaging machine(s) ensuring that product is packed consistent with plant procedures and specifications. Cross training of lines and knowledge of more than two machines is required. Trouble shoots and resolves operational/mechanical problems. Job duties must adhere to safety and good manufacturing practices and meet food safety standards applicable to this position.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

• Perform pre-shift operational inspection of assigned line to ensure an efficient start-up and running of machine.
• Operates filling and packaging equipment during line operation, monitoring for proper fill levels, product quality and weight control.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems in a timely manner to ensure efficiency of product flow.
• Keep work area clean and organized during operation.
• Perform all post run duties to include cleaning, stocking of supplies, etc.
• Maintain positive and professional communication with peers and supervisors to ensure efficient work flow.

Skills / Abilities

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Display strong attention to detail in a fast paced, multi-tasking work environment.
• Maintain open lines of communication with employees to ensure smooth and efficient process run.
• Must be able to work 10 hours or more hours per day and overtime.
• Mechanical aptitude is strongly desired as minor maintenance work may be required.

Start times vary between 4:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Work schedule is typically Monday through Thursday up to 12 hours a day.

Must be able to work Friday during plants busy season or as production demands require.
