You must have excellent communication skills, be able to read and write, be able to take instructions well and be prepared for a fast-paced work atmosphere, while always maintaining our food and sanitation standards. This position will require standing, bending, lifting, and walking throughout the workday, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
$14-$18/hr. + Tips!
About the Job:
- Minimum of 2 years experience: The ideal candidate should have at least two years of relevant experience in a professional kitchen or seafood restaurant. This experience should include handling and preparing seafood, as well as executing recipes to a high standard.
- Shucking experience: The candidate should be experienced in shucking a variety of shellfish. They should have the ability to shuck shellfish safely and efficiently and possess knowledge to identify shellfish that are safe for consumption.
- Above average knife skills: The candidate should be skilled in using a variety of knives to prepare seafood including filleting fish and breaking down shellfish. They should be able to handle sharp knives with confidence and precision.
- Recipe execution: The candidate should be comfortable following recipes. They should be able to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Preparation: The candidate should be able to clean and prepare whole fish for cooking, gutting, scaling, and deboning. They should know how to handle fish safely and hygienically while working quickly to minimize waste.
