Provides thorough cleaning of assigned area (i.e. restrooms, windows, marble, and carpets). Assists in moving furniture, Multi-Game machines and equipment in support of other departments for the coordination of special events/projects.

- Properly utilizes all equipment required to perform assigned tasks (i.e. buffer, extractor, auto scrubber, burnisher, wide area vacuum, high lift, portapac, wet/dry vacuum, hand-truck, and push carts).
- Maintains and cleans all equipment used at the end of each shift or immediately after use. Immediately notifies the Supervisor of any damage or malfunctioning equipment.
- Maintains the storeroom in a neat and orderly fashion. Advises the Supervisor of any needed supplies.
- Always meets with off-going and on-coming Supervisor to discuss special tasks and problems. Enters all pertinent information in the Supervisor's communication book.
- Demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of all chemicals and equipment used by the department.
- Effectively conducts initial safety training to new Team Members and provides ongoing safety education for all Environmental Services Porters.
- Conducts routine tours of the facility to ensure that all areas are receiving proper attention and to establish any problem areas that may require special attention. Ensures that Team Members are in assigned areas.
- Assists in training all new Environmental Services Porters. Assigns on-the-job training with an experienced Team Member. Re-trains as necessary before assigning to an area.
- Ensures that sufficient staffing is available at all times to complete daily tasks. Assists with adjusting staffing and Team Member assignments as necessary to effectively complete assignments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must successfully complete MSDS and OSHA training.
- Good interpersonal skills required.
- Must be self-motivated and be attentive to detail.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Prior cleaning equipment knowledge preferred.
- Must possess knowledge of hard floor care, marble maintenance, and carpet care.
- A valid NYS Driver’s license may be required; may be required to transport supplies/equipment and clean offsite.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent use of computer and ten-key adding machine.
- Ability to stand and walk for significant periods of time, as well as occasional bending, lifting, and twisting, as well as repetitive use of foot or feet in operating machine controls.
- Must be able to lift and/or move 75 lbs. or more, and ability to push or pull equipment.
