Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Origination role (“Manager”) is a key driver of the Origination group’s and it’s overall success. The Manager is primarily accountable for identifying and executing on long-term off-take and other revenue generating opportunities with utility customers in PJM, MISO, ERCOT, SERC, TVA, and SPP for Groups’s wind, solar, and battery storage development portfolio. The Manager will manage relationships with potential off-takers, lead deal structuring and negotiation, drive the internal deal valuation and approval process, collect and analyze market and customer data to support decision making, and contribute substantially to the formation of the overall origination group strategy.

Essential Functions

  • Develop customer and markets plan (short term and long-term/strategic) for PJM, MISO, ERCOT, SERC, TVA, and SPP
  • Source and maintain customer relationships and off-take opportunities
  • Lead customer account planning and the execution of business strategies to secure power purchase, build-transfer, and other off-take agreements
  • Lead negotiation of commercial transactions including off-take agreements
  • Manage cross-functional teams to support preparation of solicited and unsolicited offers that arise from formal and informal Request for Proposal (RFP) processes
  • Prepare bids for projects in accordance with internal underwriting metrics
  • Deliver presentations to customers and senior staff and executives
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior managers and associates on execution of deliverables
  • Maintain systems for tracking pricing proposals and market clearing prices
  • Conduct competitive pricing analyses through a deep understanding of market clearing prices and competitor offerings
  • Gather real-time market feedback and perform market analysis in coordination with Project Development, Government Affairs, M&A, and Project Finance
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Track record of originating, structuring, valuing, negotiating, and executing PPAs, BTAs, DTAs, and/or project acquisitions and divestitures
  • Knowledge of the full cycle of utility-scale wind, solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hybrid renewable power generation development
  • Bachelor’s degree

Physical Demands

  • Position will require sitting for long periods of time.
  • Occasionally lift 20-pound or more.
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 25% of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
