PITCO FOODS SJO ORDER PULLER – FULL CASE PICK
PITCO Foods is a large independent foodservice distributor in Northern California. Based in San Jose, CA, PITCO also has distribution centers in Brisbane, Oakland, and Sacramento.
POSITION SUMMARY: Pulls merchandise from stock for high-volume business delivery orders. Pulls and loads items onto the truck, and boxes small cooler and freezer items into milk crates. Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtains pull sheet (list of number and location of items to pull for an order) from the control desk.
- Lifts pallet from low stack and sets on the floor. Observes safety and security procedures, such as performing daily safety checklist for electric pallet jacks prior to use, checking manual pallet jacks and pallets and tagging any with defects, and using the proper lifting technique.
- Pulls pallets through the warehouse and selects items from floor stock to assemble orders. Check each pull to ensure the correct item and quantity are pulled and that all items are in good condition.
- Enlists forklift driver to drop full pallets from steel shelves for large quantity item orders. Spots for forklift drivers to keep people out of the fall-danger zone. Ensures that the forklift is always traveling at a safe speed to ensure the safety of customers and other employees.
- When using the electric pallet jack, always follows the company’s safety standards.
- Writes the quantity/weight of each item pulled down on the pull sheet. Notes any approved substitutions and out-of-stock items. Signs off on completed pick sheet. Follows proper departmental procedures for paperwork and performance of duties.
- Checks the computer to research any items not found. Transfers completed order to audit area. Places pull sheet on top of pallet for auditors. Fills 10-25 orders (depending on order size) per shift.
- Moves completed orders into trucks for delivery.
- Follows proper Business Delivery and general safety and security procedures and standards.
- Keeps aisles clear of pallets and debris.
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary. This includes but is not limited to stocking, cleaning, facing, and returns of merchandise to shelves.
