The Dayton division has recently been named as one of only five prime awardees for the 10-year, $4.7 billion NOVASTAR contract supporting the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), WPAFB, Ohio.
The EO Engineer/Scientist will provide in-depth R&D tools and techniques related EO data analysis, exploitation, and dissemination at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at WPAFB, Ohio. The candidate will be required to work with other elements to include Government analysts, contractors from other companies, and external organizations in support of integrated production activities. Candidates must be able to work independently and have effective oral and written communication skills. Successful candidates will have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Develop EO sensor systems, analytical techniques, or new applications for existing systems, as needed.
- Perform research on the performance and capabilities of EO sensors, focusing on target phenomenology detection and characterization.
- Provide input to analysis reports, briefings, in-depth analysis reports, quick response taskings, and compendium updates.
- Produce reports on algorithm development/enhancement, tools, and data sources.
- Analyze data in the application of remote sensing technology to solve intelligence issues.
- Prepare and present briefings and update internal report tracking metrics for analysis.
- Work independently and in a team environment.
- May require technical leadership and directing the work of other staff members.
- At a minimum, Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or mathematics.
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
- Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
- Must have an active TS/SCI clearance. Active Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph is desired.
- Experience and understanding of design, development, and testing/fielding of electro-optical systems specific to passive and/or active remote sensing applications.
- Proficient in MATLAB and Python.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- MS or BS in Science, Math, Engineering, Remote Sensing, or related discipline preferred.
- Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
- Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.
- Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).
- Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, and walk.
- Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required.
