We are seeking an Operations Planner to be accountable for materials planning activities at a chemical manufacturing plant. This will include Raw Materials planning, ordering, and oversight; Maintenance critical parts ordering and oversight; SAP Reporting and Documentation; Safety and Environmental related reporting on materials; and Capex parts tracking and oversight. This position is based in Spokane, WA and reports to the Spokane Plant Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and support a safety oriented culture.
  • Follow all EHSQ requirements and standards.
  • Assist in data and documentation related to compliance reporting.

Plan Materials based on forecast and historical information

  • Primary responsible for ensuring raw material supplies are optimal.
  • Ensure lab and operations supplies are adequate.

Utilize fully integrated IT business system (SAP) in all processes.

  • Generate Raw Material, Operations, and Maintenance Purchase Requisitions.
  • Track Raw Material Inventories, Purchases, and Goods Receipts.
  • Understand and back up Production Documentation in SAP.
  • Document and communicate downtime reasons.
  • Use Maintenance Work module for parts orders and Work Order management.

Capital Expenditure

  • Support Capex materials ordering and tracking.

Continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team on improvement initiatives.
  • Develop solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of all material flows.
  • Increase plant reliability and excellence through daily work.

Other duties as assigned.

Desired skills and experience:

  • Three years' experience in a chemical or industrial manufacturing operation with a working knowledge of process and task flow, and experience in a planning role.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, materials, operations, business, or related field.
  • Outstanding information technology skills with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and ERP SAP.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in dynamic environment.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starting; self-managing.
  • Flexible, problem-solving mindset.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
