Operations Manager
At Village Landscape & Design, our Operation Managers are crucial leaders within our team. They lead the frontline crews to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety while creating beautiful landscapes. This position directly supervises and coordinates both maintenance and installation crews working on industrial, residential, commercial, and public properties. This is a fast-paced role that oversees project planning and management, material procurement, and is directly involved with the hiring, training, and overall continual growth of our crew members.
Core responsibilities include:
Landscape Quality and Efficiency
- Create detailed maintenance service plans for each customer
- Partner with Account Manager, Business Development team, and clients to perform landscape quality audits, identify maintenance needs, and recommend enhancement opportunities
- Organize project planning, oversight and guidance to supervisors and team members on client jobsites to drive customer satisfaction with timely and effective service
- Identify opportunities to improve Operations processes and provide additional training to team members
- Understand and contribute to profitability goals through proper planning of monthly operations, including management of labor and materials costs and review of financial reports and results
Promoting Safety, Training, and Career Growth Opportunities
- Oversee hiring and staffing needs of the business to ensure Operations teams are appropriately staffed
- Demonstrate ongoing leadership in a safety-oriented culture and hold all team members accountable for following safety procedures
- Educate and train crew members on a variety of safety topics
- Continuously mentor supervisors and develop crew member talent
- Participate in identifying enhancement opportunities for the Business Development team to pursue
- Assign and manage daily tasks for crew
- Ensure crew's compliance with quality and safety standards
- Communicate crew performance concerns
- Monitor irrigation systems on properties to ensure adequate, efficient irrigation on site
- Accurately fill out and archive daily paperwork: time sheets, inspection reports, etc
- Facilitate conflict resolution between crew members
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in any of these associated fields: Horticulture Science, Landscape Architecture & Urban Planning, Park and Tourism Sciences, or Construction Science.
Experience:
2 years: Operating Landscaping Equipment
2 years: Commercial and/or Residential Landscaping
Driver's License and clean driving record required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
