Job description
The crane operations manager will need to be a motivated individual that focus on the safety of all employees around the cranes while maintaining a low operation cost. The position will require a very logistic minded person while maintaining a high mural within the crane department.
Position Summary:
The position reports to the Equipment Director and is responsible for the following.
Work with job Superintendents to size cranes for jobs and ensure proper ground conditions are in place
Oversee the movement of all cranes within our fleet, including assembly and disassembly procedures
Ensure all monthly and annual Inspections are completed in a timely manner
Ensure all operators have current certifications for their current job requirements
Work with estimating to try and ensure job costs are in line with crane costs for size, use, mobilization, etc.
Train and test operators as necessary to ensure all our operators are competent to operate all our cranes
Ability to calibrate LMI’s, spool new rope and rewrap loose rope on cranes, other mechanical tasks as needed
Ensure the safety of our personnel and fleet by being ever vigilant in managing all our company resources
Manage crane operators’ location and job placement
- Work with jobs coding operator’s time
- Work with operator on daily maintenance and minor repairs
- Stay in constant communication with the maintenance department on large repairs
- Work with Equipment Director on controlling crane cost from an ownership standpoint.
- Manage 3D lift planning software
- Manage all company owned rigging
- Maintain an accurate crane schedule
