The Guidance Specialist (or Onsite Provider) will perform grassroots social work and assist with providing immediate resources for behavioral and emotional health, family, wellness or other life challenges at one of our customer's locations. Services are provided to employees at a distribution center/warehouse. This position is a long term, contract position and has a pay rate of $35/hour or $40/hour if bilingual in Somali.

This position is for two, 4 hour shift per week (it is not a full time role - 8 hours per week total)*. Candidates will need the following availability to work one 4 hour shift either 3-7pm or 4-8pm any day of your choice Monday through Thursday, and another 4 hour shift 3-7pm or 4-8pm either on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

*For the Holiday season for the months of November and December, the hours needed are 12 per week - in January, hours jump back to 8 hours per week*

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide resources for emergency food, housing and utilities as well as referrals for emotional issues, substance abuse, child and elder care, legal, financial or other issues
• Work in tandem with ComPsych Employee Assistance Program
• Assist in filling out applications and forms for housing and utility assistance and other community based resources to employees who may need help
• Build rapport with employees and onsite HR/leadership to foster participation and engagement in the program

Qualified Candidates Must Have:

• A cultural understanding of the Somali and Napali community. A Somali-speaking bilingual provider is preferred, but not required, as long as the candidate has worked with this population in the past and has built cultural competency to the Somali and Napali people and culture
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Psychology or Social Work or related field (Master's preferred)
• Social work experience, including in person assistance with local resources (i.e. assisting with food stamps, emergency assistance, housing assistance, domestic violence, utility assistance, etc.)
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of community based resources
• Experience providing resources and referrals within a social work or mental health field, and knowledge of navigating community based service system effectively and efficiently

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
