Elementary School Principal
2023-2024 School Year

Professional Qualifications:
- Master's degree in appropriately related field desirable;
- Valid Washington teaching and principal credentials;
- Demonstrated ability to work with staff and community in a personable, friendly, supportive and organized manner;
- Experience and/or training in areas of technology usage in education, and knowledgeable in current curriculum and school restructuring issues;
- Evidence of strong standards of discipline;
- Evidence of ability to involve staff in decision making process while taking a stand and making the tough decisions when necessary;
- Successful experience as a classroom teacher and/or building administrator;
- Evidence of being actively involved in the community;
- Evidence of knowledge of Special Education law;
- Knowledge and skills of turnaround and transformational leadership practices from Institute of Education Sciences (IES);
- Previous principal experience is preferred.
We are looking for a principal who will:
- Continue to guide school transformation in the Elementary School;
- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of an effective school climate that creates a learning environment sensitive to divers socioeconomic groups;
- Demonstrate strong instructional leadership skills with a knowledge and understanding of current educational issues;
- Facilitate, plan, organize and implement educational programs, including in-service and instructional opportunities for staff;
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communications skills with students, staff and community members;
- Fairly evaluate staff with the new TPEP;
- Positively resolve conflict and build consensus;
- Organize building space and schedule to facilitate needs of staff, students, and community;
- Oversee student management, attendance and school safety programs;
- Facilitate the vision, mission, goals and objectives of the District;
- Share district wide activity supervision coverage and participate in community civic organizations;
- Perform other district-wide administrative duties as needed or assigned.
The individual selected as Principal of Onalaska Elementary School will have successfully demonstrated the ability to:
- Create a shared vision;
- Show past successful Elementary School experience;
- Create a dynamic team composed of people from a variety of backgrounds;
- Motivate, discipline and interact with students in a productive and positive manner;
- Encourage excellence in staff and students while building a sense of community.
Salary: $111,586-$123,201 DOE

Contract: 215 contract days. Contract year begins July, 1, 2023.
