- Valid Ohio Occupational Therapist Certificate
- Bachelor's Degree
- Valid Ohio Occupational Therapist License
- Valid Ohio driver's license.
- Access to own motor vehicle.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Ability to maneuver stairs unassisted.
- Pass criminal background check
To provide a occupational therapy assessment as part of the multifactored evaluation, to assist in the development of the IBP and to effectively implement the goals and objectives pertaining to occupational therapy from the Individualized Education Plan.
Essential Functions:
- Provide occupational therapy evaluation as a part of the multifactored evaluation.
- Assist in the development of the individualized education program.
- Provide therapy which will: a improve, develop or restore functions impaired or lost through illness, injury or deprivation.
- improve ability to perform tasks for independent functioning when functions are impaired or lost, and;
- prevent, through early interventions, initial or further impairment or loss of function.
- Work cooperatively with local district administrators and administrators of assigned schools. Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and other support service team members to identify and develop meaningful individualized educational goals and objectives developed from the evaluation process.
- Direct and supervise the activities of the occupational therapy assistant.
- Instruct parents and teachers in the use of techniques and equipment.
- Assist in the provision of the specialized and adaptive activities in the prevocational and vocational programs.
- Comply with local, state and federal regulations regarding due process, confidentiality and other pertinent procedures.
- Maintain an efficient and effective itinerant schedule to multiple schools.
- Submit all administrative reports and forms by the deadline stipulated.
- Demonstrate best practice and actively participate in professional growth and development.
- Assist in the development of the Individualized Education Plan.
- Function as a consultant with the child's parents and school personnel.
- Attend IEP meetings and conferences with parents and school personnel as directed.
- Able to lift and maneuver 40 pounds of weight.
- Frequent lifting of handicapped children.
- Be able to cany materials to and from work site.
- Maintain required certificate(s) and/or license(s).
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
- Attend appropriate workshops and professional meetings.
- Perform all duties in conformity to the adopted Board Policy.
- Display professional appearance.
- Peform in a professional manner.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:

- Helps instill in students and staff the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
- Shall perform such other duties as the Governing Board may assign/determine.
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the County/District.
- Observes Risk Reduction Safety Rules and Regulations of the Warren County ESC and School Districts, State, Federal OSHA laws and will be evaluated to the extent of compliance and implementation as an employee of such rules and regulations for safety in the workplace while visiting such sites in line of work duties.
