About the Position: This Nurse Manager will assure his/her areas are regulatory prepared and ready and that the areas assigned adhere to all standards and expectations; person should have a good working knowledge of CMS, Joint Commission and other regulatory agency standards and / or have the desire to enhance their knowledge and experience in this area. The individual will be accountable to providing support, education and mentoring of the staff in his or her department. With the other nurse managers, this individual will conduct regular department meetings and will assist in the new employee competencies and education. This person will assure education to his/her department on new or updated policies or forms and will monitor the return rate of satisfaction surveys in their area and make a plan to improve scores impacted by unit staff. This person will complete staff evaluations and competencies of his/her assigned staff. On an ongoing basis will conduct audits and round in his /her assigned area and make plans when areas are deficient. Is responsible for the overall coverage in their assigned area and works with the other nurse managers to assure the units / departments are covered. This individual should demonstrate a positive and skilled leader with a passion for psychiatric nursing and is able to drive this passion with his/her staff to assure excellence in the patient care provided. This person may on occasion cover as supervisor and flexibility with his / her schedule may be required. Good working knowledge of FTE management and staffing grids is required.

Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. * Frequently stands, walks, kneels, reaches while working with patients. * Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patients. * Ability to perform CPR and first aid. Ability to drive a vehicle if necessary. * Ability to work rotating shifts, and be flexible in own hours. * Must be able to speak, read and write clearly, and organize multiple tasks at one time. * Ability to visually supervise patients/residents & hear requests for assistance from patients/residents and staff. Able to problem solve situations under stressful situations. * Emotional stability necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. * Vision and hearing sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

Would prefer: Knowledge and experience of nursing care and interventions with psychiatric patients. Knowledgeable of the psychotropic medications, potential side effects, and psychiatric diagnoses. Ability to direct others in the delivery of services, organize multiple tasks at one time, and problem solve situations under a fast paced environment. Ability to safely implement special treatment procedures. Ability to delegate responsibility to others and assure completion of shift duties. Skill in developing therapeutic relationships with clients of all ages, and work as a member of a treatment team.

An Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required; BSN is preferred with a minimum of two years supervisory experience in a hospital setting with three years in a psychiatric setting required. MUST HAVE COLORADO SINGLE STATE OR COMPACT RN LICENSE.

Due to the restructuring of positions and responsibilities in the Nursing Administration Department, we have an opportunity for 3 Nurse Manager Positions. When applying please be specific as to which position/area you are interested in being considered for.

Position: - FT Nurse Manager – Child/Adolescent In-Patient Program Focus – Monday through Friday – 40 hours - 8 hour shifts

You will need to have flexibility and be able to work weekends as needed.

There is a $5000 Sign On Bonus attached to this position.
