Overview:
Minimum Experience: 1 year of prior acute care experience preferred or CNA or completion of first clinical course in RN/LPN program.
Required Certification/Registration: CNA certificate preferred if experience is minimal. BLS current and ongoing.

Responsibilities:
The Nursing Assistant performs assigned patient care tasks and other related unit duties, defined, and delegated under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse/Licensed Professional Nurse.
- Is knowledgeable in patient care procedures and adheres to Policy/Procedure and Standards of Care
- Performs tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Takes vital signs according to Policy/Procedure.
- Assures that patient call bells are verbally responded to from the nurse’s station and answered in a timely manner and alerts the appropriate personnel to the patient’s needs. If a call bell is on and the clerk does not receive a verbal response from the patient, the clerk alerts the staff assigned to that room immediately.
- Assists with maintaining a comfortable, therapeutic and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors; assists with safeguarding a patient’s property and belongings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent preparation and/or experience required. High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
