Job description
The Registered Nurse is involved in carrying out the responsibilities involved with the provision of nursing services offered in each program area for the children in care may include contracted services (MD, OT, PT, Speech, etc.) and services of outside providers (dental, eye, etc.). Also assists the Senior Nurse with assessment, planning and implementation of those services and of record keeping and compliance. Reports to the Senior Nurse and will consult with the Staff Psychiatrist, as necessary. In the absence of the Senior Nurse, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for the supervision of Transportation Aides, LPNs, CRMAs, Student Nurses and Interns in providing care appropriate to the age-related needs of children. Indirectly, the Registered Nurse assists with supervision of any and all staff members responsible for the distribution of medication to children in care and those responsible for medical record keeping and distribution of information from such record. The Registered Nurse will educate others on clinical issues in consultation with the Senior Nurse and/or Staff Psychiatrist.Graduate of 2 year Nursing program.
One year of medical/surgical nursing.
Licensed in State of Maine as Registered Nurse (RN) or licensed LPN.
Additional year of psychiatric nursing preferred.
