Position: Night/Weekend Library Manager

Location: McKenzie, TN

Status: Full Time

Reports to: Library Director

Bethel University’s College of Arts and Sciences is seeking candidates to work as the Night/Weekend Library Manager on the McKenzie campus.

The Night/Weekend Library Manager is responsible for the evenings, nights, and weekends during the academic year. Provides indirect supervision to part-time assistants and student workers in the performance of their duties. Provides technical, reference, and circulation services. Monitors students, faculty, and staff as they use the library. Provides facility security and maintains communication with Library Director and Campus Security as needed. Creates material for social media and website.

Job Responsibilities Include:

1. Opens and closes the library during specified hours and secures library equipment (nights and weekends). Directs part-time personnel and work-study students in assigned duties. Monitors computers, copiers, and VendPrint for proper function. Takes action to deal with disruptive or problem patrons. Provides facility security and maintains communication with Library Director and Campus Security as needed.

2. Responds to general reference questions. Instructs patrons on how to use reference sources and automated information systems. Assists patrons in location of resources. Answers routine inquiries and refers patrons in need of professional assistance to librarians.

3. Primary responsibility for the department’s management of patron overdue notices, fines, and billing processes.

4. Creates/posts social media to library accounts.

5. Routinely checks website links for viability; works with librarians to update/improve research guides.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s degree; intermediate to expert level of computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office and basic troubleshooting of software errors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
