POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Construction Assistant Manager assists the Construction Manager to oversee every aspect of a building project, starting with basic proposals and worker agreements and ending with final inspections and, in many cases, reports to owners or investors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible to help make sure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in a way that is safe and follows local building codes and laws.
· Assisting in the necessary paperwork to complete jobs, such as building permits and licensing materials.
· Responsible for making teams and resolving conflicts large and small.
· Helps prevent fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing codes.
· Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
· Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
· Aids in human resource objectives in selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
· Experience with project management or quality management
· Ability to delegate
· Attention to detail
· Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
· Experience with construction tools is vital
· Computer literacy a must
· Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
· A good working relationship with others is essential
· Excellent communication skills a must
· Five years of related experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
