- A network architect is responsible for planning, designing and implementing data communication networks that meet their organizations' needs.
- Once deployed, these professionals monitor the network and perform network modeling tasks to assess future needs.
Typical job responsibilities include:
- Planning and designing data communication networks.
- Overseeing the network implementation process, including setting schedules and budgets.
- Managing information and network security.
- Researching network technologies and staying up to date on advancements in the field.
- Recommending solutions to improve new and existing network architecture and making recommendations for advancing the capabilities at the NIA.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant field.
