Network Administer

Summary of position:

Responsible for the configuration and maintenance of the corporate network, data center and cloud network infrastructure. The candidate will have advanced knowledge of Cisco networking including switches, routers, and firewalls. They will perform routine network maintenance and upgrades in our corporate offices, data centers, and remote sites. Applicants must be able to exhibit proficiency at troubleshooting network hardware and configuration issues. This role is non-remote and based out of our Offices in Columbia, Missouri.

Responsibilities:

• Configure, implement, and troubleshoot Cisco, FortiGate, Meraki and sonicwall firewalls, routers, switches.
• Responds to and resolves network security alerts and trouble tickets.
• Provide subject matter expertise in networking hardware and software.
• Performs security audits and addresses deficiencies of all network appliances.
• Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.
• Maintains and administers perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Must be able to support layer 2 and layer 3 switching. Knowledge of Spanning-tree, switch trunks and layer three VLANS
• Guide, direct, or recommend enhancements for system performance, reliability, scalability, and capacity.
• Provides 2nd level support to Helpdesk Personnel on resolving individual problems relating to networking functionality.
• Maintains accurate and current inventory of all IT infrastructure.
• Designs and updates network diagrams in a clear and concise fashion
• Maintains and updates relevant system and process documentation.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Networking technologies, computer science or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• Have a minimum of 2 years IT experience with network operations and administration experience.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification preferred.
• Experience with network design, configuration and troubleshooting
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP
• Good judgment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
• Attention to detail and strong written communication skills to help with technical documentation.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Good written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to work with minimal direction.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities to deliver on commitments on time.
