Anser Advisory is actively searching for a National Pursuit Director!
The National Pursuit Director will supervise a team of pursuit staff and manage the Advisory & Compliance business line national processes, systems/tools and activities related to proposal execution and knowledge management. The Director will manage and support the proposal development process through interaction with the assigned pursuit development staff and consultants, and technical team members. This person has a track-record of leading successful capture efforts and proposal development teams responding to opportunities for large and complex programs.
Essential Duties
- Manage A&C national approach to proposal development using the proposal process flow chart.
- Lead large national pursuits from early-stage lead through presentation stage.
- Establish corporate training modules in proposal processes, methods, and techniques.
- Supervise and mentor pursuit staff; assign pursuit manager/coordinator support to capture and other growth projects based on availability, fit and schedule. Ensure adequate planning for all proposal activities.
- Assist in identifying supporting internal and external (team, consultant, etc.) proposal resources.
- Assist in developing budget estimates related to proposal development.
- Oversee compliance with proposal knowledge management processes; develop and maintain a centralized proposal library (solicitations, responses, debriefings) or other reusable knowledge database(s).
- Provide proposal strategy guidance and support when requested to local and remote internal technical staff on solicitations.
- Assist in defining proposal themes and strategies; generate writing assignments; and support post-proposal activities.
- Support development and refinement of templates, and standardized processes to streamline proposal development.
- Achieve win rates above industry averages.
- Ensure low turnover rate of pursuits team members.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or communications or related field
- 5+ years of B2B or industry experience
- Demonstrated involvement in industry and community organizations
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and executing proposal development processes
Skills
- Deep understanding of brand strategy, planning, positioning and messaging
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills and proven ability to understand and communicate technical concepts in a compelling, persuasive manner
- Graphic design proficient – ability to convert text to educational infographics
- Experience running marketing teams
- Professional and proactive work ethic
- Excellent written, oral and communication skills
- Organization and effective time management skills and ability to multi-task
- Competency in Microsoft applications, Adobe Creative Suite and internal CRM system
- Adept at pitch development and training
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Physical Requirements: This position involves a combination of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day. Requires the ability to view and comprehend information and emails on computer monitors for the majority of the day.
- Mental Requirements: This position requires strong communication skills (verbal and written), the ability to problem solve, interpret information and draw conclusions in order to make decisions. This position may also require strong presentation skills if involved with client proposals and other presentations. If assigned to manage staff, this position will also require supervisory skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work product is also required as well as the ability to effectively handle conflicting priorities.
- Travel: Potential travel in the United States.
