Position Overview: The Community Resource Mobilization Manager leads volunteer and in-kind donation mobilization efforts for the Organization in their assigned region* by building, maintaining, and leveraging community relationships, and plans, organizes, and manages programs to develop, allocate, coordinate, and control all community resources (including in-kind donations, volunteers, and funding leads) for the organization. The Community Resource Mobilization Manager is responsible for cultivating relationships with community leaders and client advocates (e.g. social workers, shelters, housing programs, community centers, etc.) in their assigned region.
Responsibility Region: *Our Southern California Region reaches from Paso Robles in San Luis Obispo County in the north to Chula Vista in San Diego County in the South.
Main Work Location: May be based out of either our Orange County (Anaheim/Santa Ana) or Riverside offices. This is not a fully remote position. Some administrative work may be done from home or an approved remote location.
Work Environment, Expected Hours, and Travel: The person in this position works full-time (40 hours per week). Typical office hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, and some evenings and weekends as necessary for optimal business function. This position requires frequent, company-paid, travel, throughout Southern California, particularly throughout Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Diego, San Luis, and Santa Barbara Counties, and works in professional office environments, storage facilities, and community locations.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in community organizing, nonprofit fundraising, including in-kind and cash donations, donor development, donor management
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience
- City Net seeks supervisors who have an overall Servant Leadership philosophy (and use authoritative, participative, transformational/coaching, delegation, and transactional styles as needed). We do not seek leaders with Autocratic or Laissez-faire styles
- Understanding of nonprofit, volunteer, and social services sectors; working knowledge of nonprofit management principles and practices
- Relevant professional connections in Southern California, especially Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Diego, and Santa Barbara Counties
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- Must be able to pass random drug screening and annual criminal records checks throughout employment
Nice To Have
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, or public relations. Graduate degree in a related field is desirable
Essential Functions
- Lead efforts to solicit community support and resources by contacting community leaders, corporations, faith communities, and other nonprofits/foundations
- Develop and oversee, either directly or through assigned staff oversight, the delivery of orientation and training to volunteers
- Design and implement special events to inform the community of the organization’s volunteer and in-kind donation opportunities
- Collaborate with Shelter and Street Outreach & Engagement Team leadership to strategize in-kind donation and volunteer needs
- Supervise Volunteer Coordinators and In-Kind Donation Coordinators throughout the assigned region
- Design and implement new and innovative programs to build community resource network and giving, as well as to recruit, train, recognize, and retain volunteers
- Make resource availability/priority decisions in collaboration with Program and Operations leadership
- Monitor and report the total number and value of volunteer hours and in-kind donations
- Collaborate with Census leadership to strategize cross-utilization of in-kind donations and volunteer relationships for Point in Time Count, etc.
- Negotiate contracts for discounted resources where applicable
- Meaningfully participate as a member of the Development Department to raise funds and awareness
- Assist the Development Director (under the leadership of the President) in communicating the organizational strategic plan(s) internally and externally, so that all internal and external stakeholders understand the organization-wide strategic plan and how it carries out the organization’s overall mission, vision, and values.

Wage Range
If based in Riverside: $76,709.75-$80,869.75/year
+$520/year if based in Orange County (Live/Work Location-based Cost of Living Differential)
