Metrologist
Location: Philadelphia
Scientific Search's client has an immediate need for a Metrologist. This is a 6-month contract to hire with a dynamic organization. The Metrologist is responsible for assisting in the oversight of equipment maintenance and calibration program for laboratory equipment in a controlled GMP pharmaceutical laboratory environment. This includes performing while under supervision the preventative maintenance, repair, calibration, installation, and qualification requirements to ensure that the laboratory equipment is functioning properly and available for use on a daily basis. Perform other duties as assigned. Detailed description is below.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor cGMP stability chambers daily and enter the temperature and humidity data into a Laboratory Management System.
- Monitor cGMP stability chamber chart recordings and charge charts on a weekly basis.
- Monitor cGMP refrigerators and freezers daily and enter the temperature data into a Laboratory Management System.
- Daily check of Milli-Q water systems and enter data into a Laboratory Management System.
- Daily check/calibration of analytical balances and enter data into a Laboratory Management System.
- Check dissolution baths and all associated components for proper serialization and cleanliness.
- Instrument logbook maintenance: issue/archive/retire logbooks as needed while maintaining a master logbook.
- Receive gas tank orders and coordinate with the delivering vendor.
- Calibration of analytical equipment including ovens, dissolution baths, dissolution autosamplers, IR, UV, Muffle furnace, stirrers, shakers, centrifuge, water baths, disintegrator, moisture balance, etc.
- Perform IQ, IQ, PQ for analytical equipment’s.
- Write, revise, and update the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for analytical equipment’s.
- Coordinate of both internal and external calibration activity, shipping and receiving etc.
- Maintain instrument related documentation.
- Work with 3rd party vendors to ensure company standards and documentation procedures are met.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year Metrology service experience in pharma industry
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Maintains confidentiality
- Comply with all cGMP requirements and Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret documents and instructions, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and SOPs, report data & observations accurately, in writing & verbally
- Possesses sound documentation skills
- Communicates effectively, prioritize conflicting demands
- Executes assigned tasks within established schedule
- Knowledgeable with MS Office
