Cimarron is seeking mid-level and senior-level Electrical Designers to provide design support for the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel (GBSD) program. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch infrastructure at locations to include Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a vital US Air Force program that will recapitalize the nation's aging ground based leg of the nuclear triad -- the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). This role will support the design development of Electrical systems and equipment for the Sentinel program by preparing models, drawings, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. The candidate will work with Electrical engineers and other technical disciplines in a team environment.
This is a remote opportunity that can be supported from anywhere in the U.S.!
Key Duties:
- Model electrical rooms, equipment, cable tray, conduit, etc. in a 3D Revit environment.
- Assist with coordination of 3D model activities (i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc.) with other physical-related disciplines.
- Be responsible for electrical physical designs (and circuit and raceway).
- Be responsible for raceway design, equipment location and layout, C&R schedule inputting and update, conduit, and aboveground raceway design.
- Work under the direction of senior engineers/designers.
- Produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope, including the design of lighting, communications, grounding layout, grounding designs/calculations, and lightning protection systems.
- Be capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry-proven concepts, and procedures.
- Ensure electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

- Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
- Ability to obtain an Active Secret clearance.
- Knowledge and the ability to apply knowledge of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
- Ability to collaborate well with other disciplines.
- Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, creating drawings for electrical systems and equipment on nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, complex building electrical systems, etc.
- Ability to create independent creative designs, with direction, using Bechtel and industry-proven concepts, and procedures.
- Hands-on experience using Revit MEP, including Architectural interface, drawing generation, view templates, design options, and phasing.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
- Broad knowledge of the application of electrical engineering design principles.
- Knowledge of electrical equipment layout and required clearances.
- Knowledge of electrical raceway design and layout.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years of related design experience, or Associate of Arts or Science and 3 or more years of related experience.
Additional Requirements for Senior-Level:
- High School diploma or equivalent and 9 or more years of related design experience, or Associate of Arts or Science and 5 or more years of related experience.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Knowledge of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards.
- Active Secret clearance or higher.
- Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings and specifications.
- Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to resolve design issues independently and collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client.
- Previous DoD/DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or NASA project experience.
- Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $85,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
