The medical dosimetrist, along with the radiation oncologist and medical physicist, will work to construct a treatment plan that will meet the prescription written by the radiation oncologist. The medical dosimetrist is also responsible for the appropriate use of the electronic medical record, including maintaining an accurate record of treatment planning progress, and communication and documentation of relevant patient information. The medical dosimetrist is responsible for continuing education and training students and interns within the department.
