QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least 2 years of experience in clinical assisting required; pain mgmt experience desirable
- Knowledge of EMR and word processing software; eClinicalWorks highly desirable
- Experience handling lab paperwork
- Excellent computer skills; experienced with Microsoft Office, Chrome, website portals, e-mail and internet applications
- Strong attention to detail
- Must possess excellent customer service skills & managed care basics
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks effectively.
Job Duties
Clinical Support
- Greets and escorts patients from the waiting room to exam rooms; prepares patients for exam or treatment
- Prepares patients for examination by obtaining summary of patient history; taking vitals; reporting preliminary summary to providers.
- Assists physicians in preparing for examinations and minor procedures; prepares with necessary instruments and supplies
- Assists physicians in writing prescriptions for tests and medications for physician’s signature
- Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and answers questions about procedures.
- Communicates physician referral requests to referral staff for processing
- Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments
- Disposes of contaminated items according to OSHA guidelines
- Performs patient education when appropriate
- Replenishes supplies – stocks, cleans, and closes down exam rooms at the end of the day
- Takes medical stock inventory and communicates supply shortages to supervisor
- Checks faxes, physician’s voicemail and answers all patient messages prior to the end of the shift
- Addresses all patient prescription refill requests and refills patient prescriptions under direction of physician or physician’s assistant prior to the end of your shift
- Completes disability forms and other patient insurance forms within a reasonable time frame
- Maintains sample medication cabinet and logs all samples given in the patient’s chart & in medication log
- Enters lab reports, correspondence, physician dictation/notes, progress notes, radiology reports and other approved documents, in electronic charts
- Schedules procedures by making arrangements with the surgical center; verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admission and consent forms
- Ensures that all charts are organized to protocol
Other
- Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
- Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management/EMR and other computer software as it relates to job functions
- Attends all regular meetings
- Interacts with peers in order to promote team atmosphere
- Interacts with all physicians and supervisors in a respectful manner
Job Requirements
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school /GED degree required
- CMA certificate a plus
- Experience in pain management highly desirable

Compensation: $17-22 depending on experience (DOE) ; Signing Bonus
