Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Transports, collects, receives, prepares and accurately tests biological specimens using procedures consistent with safe work practices and proper laboratory technique while maintaining integrity of specimens.
- Critically evaluates specimens and correlates all lab results to the clinical picture of each individual. Communicates and documents all testing and results in a timely manner to clinical personnel involved in patient care.
- Maintains and operates test systems for optimal performance, being able to identify and resolve technical problems, utilizing quality control methods and troubleshooting techniques.
- Follows CAP and all regulatory guidelines, demonstrating consistent adherence to national patient safety goals. May assess and approve competency of other techs and staff.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelors' Degree in Medical Technology; or Bachelor's degree in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences from as accredited college or university, and completion of 12 months of trainign in an accredited school of Medical Technolofy.
- Registered (or registry eligible) with a nationally accredited certifying agency (ASCP, AMT)
- Restiry eligible employees are expected to completed and pass all requirements for certification within one year of employment.

$23.98 - $27.90 /hour
